The Hoea tō Waka model
for support professionals

A half day workshop. Your staff learn to use the model to enhance their clients' resilience while caring for their own wellbeing. Perfect for social workers, counsellors, health care professionals, teachers and youth workers.

Hoea tō Waka is evidence-based and mana enhancing. Easy for clients to understand. Help clients find their power, even in the most challenging circumstances. Staff can begin to use Hoea tō Waka to explore social inequalities, colonisation and Te Tiriti. This training can also be delivered one on one.

Take the learning home to share. Short story 'My Brother Hemi' is suitable for anyone over 8 years old. Nan explains the concepts of Hoea tō Waka to Kaia who then applies them to supporting their brother Hemi who is being bullied at school. A wonderful resource for teachers to share with their classes.
